Ysbrand Endt, the sailing entrepeneur

Ysbrand taught himself to sail in the little village where he grew-up.  Day in, day out he sailed on the water alone until he had mastered all facets. He never felt lonely. Always in his element. That he became a sailing instructor/trainer and coach came as no surprise to anyone. That he married Christa, who joined him on their shared sailing adventures and became one of the few dutch woman professional sailor, was also to be expected by many.

 

Opportunities are rare, but when they come along, you have to be prepared to seize them – is Ysbrand's firm belief. Ysbrand is the 'common thread' of the whole thing. The 'organizer' and taking the initiative.

Ysbrand had two major dreams, his own company and participating in the largest ocean race of the world – The Vendee Globe. Being an entrepreneur is part of his life now.

After successful seasons in Transat 650 followed by over fifteen years of professional sailing on VO60, VO65’s and VO70’s, it is now time to fully focus on the Vendee Globe and Imoca60.
